"Lecturer in US History"

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of History, the Lecturer in US History requires teaching a 4/5 load (90% of effort), with 10% devoted to service. The position is a 10-month renewable Lecturer appointment, non-tenure track, with opportunities for promotion.

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree in History, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History, by August 1, 2026.
• Qualifications to teach US history survey courses as well as courses in Historical Methods.
• Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
• Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in History
• Experience in the field of public history
• Successful college teaching experience
• Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
