Lecturer, Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience, College of Arts & Sciences

The Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience at Boston University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer beginning July 1, 2026. This is a teaching track line with possibility for renewal and promotion based on performance. We seek a colleague with a commitment to undergraduate education and a track record of excellence in teaching who has research expertise in any area of Drosophila neurobiology. Teaching responsibilities will include (1) teaching three lecture-based courses in the candidate's area of expertise per year, and (2) teaching laboratory sections and serving as Laboratory Director each fall for the course NE 203 Principles of Neuroscience, where students employ transgenic approaches to investigate the neurobiology of Drosophila behavior.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in neuroscience, biology, or a related field and experience with evidence-based teaching practices and incorporating research into teaching. The starting salary for this position is $72,000. The position will involve active engagement in the academic life of the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience, such as serving as an academic mentor to a cohort of undergraduate neuroscience majors, coordinating student peer-mentoring programs, developing curricular materials, serving as a research mentor for undergraduates, participating in undergraduate Honors, Master's, or PhD committees, and contributing to the development of academic initiatives. The successful candidate will join a close-knit cohort of faculty in the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience that benefits from close affiliations with programs in Biology, Psychological & Brain Sciences, and other units.
