Position Title: Lifeguard On-Call

Hiring Salary Range: $15.02 to $16.52/hourly
Regular or Temporary: Temporary
Job Description Summary: Responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons in the pool area and keeping the facility clean.
Minimum Qualifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate.
Criteria
- Watches over all swimmers and reacts accordingly.
- Enforces all rules and regulations of the College and Health Department.
- Checks deck equipment and puts away lesson equipment.
- Cleans bleachers, water fountains, and windowsills.
- Sweeps and buckets decks.
- Cleans pool gutters and skimmer baskets.
- Wipes down weight room equipment and pads.
- Participate in in-service training for staff as well as testing Lifeguard proficiency.
- Dust mops courts.
- Clean court walls and floors.
- Administers first aid when needed.
- Performs related work as required.
- Must be willing to set up and remove equipment for scheduled pool activities.
- Must be willing to perform required maintenance tasks as assigned by Natatorium management.
- Ensures a safe and clean environment for patrons.
- Responsible for setting up and taking down equipment, lane makers, and bulkhead for activities.
- Assures maximum safety of all Natatorium patrons.
- Informs Natatorium management of any needed repairs or needed supplies.
- Provides customer service as a representative of the College
- Maintains all required certifications and licenses.
Job Requirements
- Must be available to work Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:30am and 8:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
- A background investigation will be conducted prior to offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
