Assist the Crew Lead with the setup and teardown of events, including basketball & volleyball practices & games, concerts, meetings, conferences, receptions, dances, banquets, and luncheons with up to 4,000 attendees. Will assist with the installation & removal of portable basketball floors, as well as multiple college and high school graduations, and portable staging & platforms for various events, which also require the operation and use of a forklift. Perform semi-skilled maintenance with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, door hardware, picture hanging, furniture repair, and moving in the Joyce Center and other Athletic Facilities as needed. Assist in correcting VPP action items assigned by RMS.- additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education Qualifications: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 1 to 2 years
- Degree Qualifications:
- Skills: A valid driver's license is required.
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb & perform work on step & extension ladders, and work on feet 100% of the time each day.
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills is required, as well as a working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the Joyce Center's event calendar.
- Strong organizational and logistical planning skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard computer applications, including the ability to manage work orders, input scheduling data, track inventory, and communicate effectively via email and digital platforms.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar work management software is highly preferred.
Additional Information
Rate of pay: Up to $23.00/hour
