Major Gift Officer

Wellesley College is seeking a Major Gift Officer to manage a portfolio of high-capacity prospects rated $250,000 to $1,000,000 or more, including alumnae, parents, and friends. Responsibilities include developing personalized strategies for engagement and solicitation, collaborating across the department, and handling special assignments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cultivate and solicit Wellesley alumnae, parents, and friends with the capacity to make gifts of $250,000 or more.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify prospects for The Wellesley Fund and Gift Planning.
• Create and execute strategies for an assigned portfolio, including travel.
• Work with Donor Relations and Development Marketing to create cultivation and stewardship materials.
• Participate in events on campus and nationally/internationally.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Commitment to Wellesley College’s mission.
• Experience in developing, closing, and stewarding high-net-worth prospects.
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least five years of fundraising experience.

Salary range: $130,000 to $135,000 annually. Location: Wellesley, Massachusetts.
