Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Aquatic Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operation of the University Club's aquatic facility. This position ensures a safe, high-quality, and member-focused aquatic experience while overseeing staff management, safety compliance, programming, budgeting, and facility maintenance. The Aquatic Manager plays a key role in delivering exceptional service consistent with the Club's standards of excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of aquatic management experience.
- Experience in a private club or hospitality environment preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- WSIT (Water Safety Instructor Training)
- LGIT (Life Guard Instructor Training)
- LG/FA/CPR/AED (Standard Red Cross certification that includes deep water training, generally defined as 7 feet or deeper).
Preferred Qualifications:
Job Duties:
- 50% - Aquatic Operations & Safety
- Oversee daily operations of all aquatic facilities, including pools, splash areas, and related amenities.
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Maintain appropriate chemical levels and water quality standards.
- Develop and enforce aquatic policies, procedures, and emergency action plans.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. - (Essential)
- 25% - Coordinates Event logistics
- Conducts pre-event counseling with clients to determine vision, scope and needs of the event.
- Develops client contract regarding event according to established procedures.
- Ensures that ongoing communications, regarding event status, are maintained with client.
- Completes post event activities, as required, and according to established procedures. - (Essential)
- 15% - Programming & Member Engagement
- Develop and implement aquatic programs including swim lessons, youth camps, water fitness classes, and special events.
- Coordinate swim team programs.
- Monitor program participation and adjust offerings based on member feedback and demand.
- Address member concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain positive relationships with members and guests.
- Promote aquatic programs in collaboration with Club marketing efforts. - (Essential)
- 5% - Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Coordinate preventative maintenance for pools, pumps, filters, and related equipment.
- Work closely with Facilities/Maintenance staff on repairs and capital improvements.
- Ensure cleanliness and presentation of aquatic areas meet Club standards. - (Essential)
- 5% - Budget & Financial Management
- Develop and manage the aquatic department budget.
- Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure financial performance aligns with Club goals.
- Manage payroll, supply ordering, and equipment purchases. - (Essential)
