Manager I - Student Athlete Academic Manager
General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field. One year of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs routine managerial work administering the daily operations and activities within Academic Services for Sam Houston Athletics.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Manages academic activities of Student Athletes. Establishes goals and objectives for Academic progress and success. Develops guidelines, procedures, and rules to meet goals. Develops schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals. Coordinates and evaluates team academic activities. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of tutors, student staff, Graduate Assistants. Provides academic services and monitors academic progress as it pertains to the University and NCAA rules while promoting a positive atmosphere for student athletes. Assists student-athletes in navigating their transition to college experience as well as support the exploration of various educational pursuits. Performs other related duties as assigned.
