About the opportunity
The Institute for Water Futures (IWF) at The Australian National University is a leading interdisciplinary initiative addressing complex water challenges in Australia and globally, through research, policy engagement and partnerships.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Manager to support the effective operation, growth and impact of the Institute.
About the role
Reporting to the Director, the Manager plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day management and strategic coordination of the Institute. Working closely with the IWF leadership team, they contribute to delivering the Institute’s strategic priorities, strengthening partnerships, driving business development activities, and ensuring efficient operational processes.
What we’re looking for
You are a collaborative and proactive professional who enjoys working across research, policy and stakeholder environments. You will bring substantial experience in institute, program or operational management within a university or research setting, along with demonstrated capability in building strategic partnerships and supporting researchers to secure research funding.
You will also possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Fenner School of Environment and Society (FSES) is a world-leading centre for cross-disciplinary environmental and sustainability research, education and policy-relevant advice. Through cutting-edge research and insightful analysis, our academic experts create social, economic and environmental impact and deliver real-world solutions to address complex environmental challenges.
