About the Team:
The Employment & Engagement portfolio plays a vital role in connecting Victoria University with industry, government and community partners. Comprising multiple specialist units, the team delivers strategic partnerships, events and engagement activities that create real‑world opportunities for students and advance VU’s impact agenda. The team works closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes aligned to the University’s strategic goals.
About the Role:
The Senior Project and Administration Officer provides high‑level executive, project and administrative support to the Chief Employment & Engagement Officer and their leadership team. The role combines strategic coordination with operational excellence, contributing to portfolio planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and project delivery. This is an opportunity to work across a broad and dynamic portfolio, adding value through strong judgement, initiative and continuous improvement.
Position Key Duties
- Provide high‑level executive and administrative support to the Chief Employment & Engagement Officer and leadership teams
- Coordinate and support portfolio planning, resource management and workflow prioritisation
- Prepare high‑quality briefing papers, reports, correspondence and business documentation
- Provide project coordination and administrative support across key initiatives and programs
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, including liaison with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures
- Support governance, compliance and financial accountability requirements across the portfolio
- Assist in fostering a service‑oriented, collaborative and wellbeing‑focused team culture
Position Details
Classification: HEP 7
Salary: $101,288 - $109,639 — Plus Superannuation 17%
Employment Type: Full-time, continuing
Hours per Week: 36.75
Location: Hybrid – Footscray Park Campus with some work at City Tower campus

You bring extensive experience in proactive executive support, administration, project coordination, and business operations within a complex organisation. You are a proactive problem-solver with initiative, strong judgement, exceptional communication skills, and professionalism when dealing with confidential matters.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and service excellence. Your ability to build strong relationships and partner with senior leaders will be essential to your success.
