Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $110,000.00 Annually
Maximum: $120,000.00 Annually
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the VP of Human Resources, the Manager of Human Resources Operations oversees the Human Resources Operations team and all functions related to employment and personnel changes such as processing new hires, promotions, transfers, and job changes. This position partners with department managers across the University to explain policies and procedures and workflow of these processes. This position is responsible for developing and monitoring strong HR operations team performance metrics to ensure peak process and staff efficiency.

Knowledge of:
- Human Resources Operations/Employment best practices, compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- A high level of interpersonal and customer service skills is required; individual will be required to interact regularly with all levels of the University.
- Must be an expert problem-solver and have the ability to develop creative approaches and
- Record keeping, filing, file sharing, and filing systems methods and techniques.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Ability to manage a team of HR professionals.
- Management development theories and techniques.
- Understanding of diversity and inclusion and knowledge of programs to build and retain a diverse workforce.
- Technologically savvy and eager to streamline internal HR and
- Strong understanding of applicant tracking system processes and implementation.
- Proven ability to facilitate and lead minor to major HR initiatives from conception to fulfillment.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulations relating to HR, EEO/AA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
- Able to achieve results in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment.
Skill:
- Active listening, engaging, and responsive communication.
- Prominent level of interpersonal skills including interaction with administration, management, faculty, staff, students, and other external contacts.
- Effective multitasking skills specific to the organization and management of concurrent projects and assigned priorities.
- Utilizing a wide array of office equipment and machines related to the area of assignment.

Required Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in Human Resources or a closely related field.
Experience or Training
5+ years of HR-related experience, the last three of which must have been as an HR leader preferably managing one or more major teams within an HR operation in higher education.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications:
Travel may be required for various off-site meetings, trainings, conferences, and/or events in support of the overall objective of the position.
