The Anatomy Laboratory is licensed within NSW for the provision of Anatomical Examination under the Anatomy Act 1977, and along with the Exercise Science and Physiology laboratories, provides state of the art learning opportunities for students across Science, Medicine and Health. The Laboratory comprises a small team of uniquely skilled staff.
About the role
We’re seeking a Medical and Health Science Technical Team Leader to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of technical support for teaching and learning. You’ll lead the team responsible for supporting practical classes in the discipline of Health & Medical Sciences, overseeing workforce and infrastructure planning, and contributing to budget preparation for materials, consumables, and equipment. Working closely with Subject Coordinators, you’ll make sure all technical requirements are met and that teaching runs smoothly throughout the year.
What you will bring
You will have completed a degree in a relevant field (such as medical science or exercise science) or have a combination of education and experience deemed to be equivalent. You will have a solid understanding of human anatomy and be highly skilled in complex cadaver dissection and prosection design, with experience in embalming and working within anatomy legislation.

Special Job Requirements:
- Manual handling of cadaveric material (>16kg) exposure to biological, chemical and sharp hazards in a risk-controlled environment will be a regular part of this role
- This position requires a pre-employment medical be undertaken to demonstrate satisfactory fitness to undertake the physical requirements of this position.
- You may be required to work outside standard business hours or occasionally weekends, as dictated by the Laboratory Timetable and operational requirements.
- This position is not suitable for remote work in accordance with the UOW Remote Working Guidelines.
