Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations or a registered nurse and according to established protocol or direction of a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner, the Medical Assistant (MA) performs a variety of skilled Medical Assistant duties and gives direct nursing care to students in the Student Health Center. Performs related work as required. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for administering medications/immunizations and performing routine care and/or medical assistant duties which require training and skill; Assist practitioners in the delivery of health care services such as examinations, clinical procedures, and medical treatments. Ensure health care patient care areas are fully stocked, organized and clean.

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,087 (Step 5) - $4,789 (Step 13) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,776 (Step 1) - $5,287 (Step 18) per month.
