MI Reconnect Enrollment Specialist (Grant Funded)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI
The Michigan Reconnect Enrollment Specialist will participate in all aspects of outreach and recruitment and provide interested adults with support and guidance on a range of postsecondary options to meet their education and career pursuits. They will engage in communication campaigns and efforts to positively impact the community and will be deployed to various stakeholder locations and work within a framework of connectivity to local employers. They will serve in all aspects of on and off-campus outreach and recruitment under the direction of the Assistant Director of Adult Recruitment and Community Outreach. Position is grant funded through March 31st, 2028.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Meet with prospective adult students interested in educational opportunities at GRCC utilizing the Michigan Reconnect tuition program.
- Participate in all Michigan Reconnect recruitment efforts on-campus and throughout the community.
- Work with community partners and stakeholders to provide adult students information about all educational opportunities offered throughout the county.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to help prospective adult students overcome barriers and take the required steps to both apply and enroll in a postsecondary program.
- Engage in recruiting efforts and assist adults across the region gain access to, and succeed in, education and training at GRCC or other postsecondary partner institutions.
- Provide communication follow up via phone, email and text to interested adult students as well as guiding them throughout their educational discovery and enrollment process.
- Assist prospective students with the completion of admissions, financial aid, and enrollment requirements.
- Have an understanding of software and related technologies essential for enrollment management.
- Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and faculty team.
- Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gmail, Blackboard, Communication Software).
- Ability to work independently at community partner and stakeholder businesses and organizations.
- Confident public speaking skills.
- Ability to understand and confidently discuss educational opportunities offered at GRCC and other post-secondary educational opportunities in on-one-on and group settings.

- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Working Conditions

- Must be able to work flexible hours (i.e. evenings and night) including occasional weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that calls for flexibility/adaptability and the ability to handle multiple interruptions and make quick decisions.
