You’ll join the team responsible for connecting the University with core stakeholders including the media, government, philanthropists, alumni, volunteers and the broader community.

Why your role Matters:

As Multimedia Journalist embedded in our UNSW Business School, you’ll work closely with professional and academic stakeholders to produce exceptional written, visual, audio and multimedia content for UNSW Business School and BusinessThink.

Create, curate and publish compelling and engaging content related to upcoming research priorities, media opportunities and key annual business calendar media activities for the Business School’s audiences to enhance the reputation of the School and BusinessThink. You’ll bring strong digital capability, using best‑practice SEO and GEO techniques to optimise existing content, and guide the development of new material across digital platforms to shape how we communicate the complex research and ideas that define the UNSW Business School, beyond the University.

Reporting to Content Editor – Business, you’ll fuse exceptional writing skills with your strong AV expertise to play a key role in advancing the School’s media and content strategy that will allow real-world application of academic insights and further growing crucial industry engagement.

Who you are:

We’re looking for a digitally skilled writer, who holds the ability to translate complex subject matter into industry relevant insights, confident in acting as the interface between academics and industry, creating high-impact content that sparks engagement across text, visual, and multimedia formats.

You’ll have the following skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a news and/or business journalist with high-level writing skills and proven expertise in content production.
  • High level of proficiency in digital publishing across platforms and channels. Strong understanding of digital best practice, content optimisation, amplification strategies and SEO and GEO. Ability to interrogate and analyse data and analytics to inform content decisions.
  • Good understanding of target audiences, with an effective writing style and understanding of high impact messaging to these audiences.
  • Impeccable attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency and the ability to enhance and bring media content to life.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn and utilise new technologies (including relevant AI platforms) to improve productivity, efficiency and scale in a responsible and ethical manner.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to build and manage successful stakeholder relationships to enable delivery of high-quality content that achieves agreed objectives. Superior written and verbal communication skills that support an ability to engage with and influence external media.
