We use a combination of systems neuroscience techniques, including electrophysiology, optogenetics, and mouse behavioral assays to unravel how basal ganglia activity and connectivity contribute to movement disorders like Parkinson's Disease, dyskinesias and dystonia. Individuals in this role will work as a member of a research team actively involved in specialized research activities through supporting research projects with managing our transgenic mouse colony and performing immunohistochemistry experiments. They will spend part of their time engaged in individual and/or collaborative specialized research projects, which are likely to involve techniques like mouse behavior, stereotaxic surgery, and optogenetics. We will provide on the job training for these latter techniques.
