Job Summary
The Office of Assessment and Accreditation (OAA) is seeking an Office Assistant with an interest in using CANVA and generative AI (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) to develop materials for the OAA. After software and procedural training, the Office Assistant will conduct general office tasks and assist with producing marketing materials for OAA. This position has the opportunity for summer employment.
Essential Duties
- Expand skills or learn to use CANVA for developing OAA marketing materials
- Expand skills or learn to use generative AI, such as ChatGPT or Copilot to assist in developing images from original text or data
- Assist with content development and design of recurring newsletter
- Assist with clerical functions, such as confirming receipt of paperwork and meeting attendance, developing checklists and timelines, and briefly covering the office
- Assist with Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint slide decks
- Assist the OAA with event set-up, workshop registration and check-in, voting for tasting events, etc.
- Assist the OAA by reviewing web pages for broken links
- May assist with social media or other departmental marketing efforts
- Other OAA duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
MWSU Student Degree Seeking At least an overall 2.0 GPA Enrolled at least part-time
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer a student with experience or a willingness to learn about using CANVA
- Prefer a student with experience or a willingness to learn about using generative AI (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.)
- Prefer a student with an interest in expanding personal creative skills
- Must have introductory-level experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must be detail oriented, punctual, and reliable
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The OAA serves administrators, faculty, and staff, so the Office Assistant will be expected to exhibit professionalism in communication, behaviors and appearance. Key to success for the Office Assistant is a willingness to follow university and department procedures at all times and to expand personal creative skills.
Physical Demands
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
