Onboarding & Engagement Specialist
The Onboarding & Engagement Programs Specialist enhances the employee experience from pre-arrival through continued development by coordinating comprehensive onboarding, professional learning, and engagement initiatives. This role fosters employee connection, supports retention, and contributes to a positive workplace culture across the School of Arts & Sciences. The Specialist will also serve as a collaborative partner and designated backup for Talent Acquisition processes, supporting recruitment workflows and providing continuity in staffing operations as needed.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in onboarding, employee engagement, training, or related HR roles. Experience designing and delivering training content in diverse formats. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with HR systems and applicant tracking systems. Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing priorities. Key Accountabilities:
- Onboarding & Orientation (20%): Design, coordinate, and facilitate onboarding processes, serve as primary contact, develop materials, collaborate with HR, and monitor effectiveness.
- Professional Development & Learning Coordination (20%): Develop and deliver training, maintain development calendars, partner with stakeholders, and manage records.
- Employee Engagement & Communication (30%): Lead engagement efforts, support community-building, design communications, and serve as liaison.
- Talent Acquisition Collaboration & Backup Support (30%): Partner on recruitment, support tasks, and maintain familiarity with workflows.
