Job Summary

The Online Program Coordinator is a 12-month staff position that will assist and support the delivery of MSUDoN’s online efforts by providing training for faculty in the area of online teaching and developing and administering distance learning student services. The position will also serve as the “Online Registrar” for students in nursing’s online programs. Furthermore, the position will assist learners in navigating them with financial aid and matters relating to accounts. The position will collaborate with the appropriate University centers and resources to help develop faculty and student support services. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented professional who is willing to learn and participate in a collaborative setting under the direction of the Nursing Department Chair and other administrators.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Chair in executing strategies and plans for online learning programs that promote the overall university’s strategic initiatives.
  • Serves as the registrar for the Online Program.
  • Handles all online students’ inquiries regarding classes, enrollment, financial aid/student accounts, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Chair and other administrators regarding methods, technology, and administrative services.
  • Assist the Chair in anticipating, mitigating, and escalating academic issues as they develop.
  • Collects, organizes, and tracks all documentation associated with the assessment of online instruction.
  • Assists with the management of service providers to ensure agreements are maintained.
  • Works extensively with the Associate Director (Nursing), Director of Online Education, and Director of Admissions, to increase student online enrollment growth along with retention strategies and other initiatives that align with the University’s strategic direction.
  • Provide other services as needed/directed by the Chair.
  • Participate in Nursing Program-specific activities, specific to the achievement of program approval and accreditation.
  • Maintain clinical practice hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • A master’s degree in adult education, distance education, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience working and supporting the distance learning program.
  • Must have expertise in Online Education.
  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, and experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.

Other Preferences for Consideration

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in the area of nursing education. Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred. Experience working with Learning Management Systems is a plus, preferably with Canvas.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and/or any other related technical programs.
