Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty (Clinical Child Psychology Focus)

The Department of Psychology at Ohio University invites applicants for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position within the Clinical Child Psychology Area of our American Psychological Association-accredited clinical psychology Ph.D. training program. Preference will be given to applicants whose program of research would create synergies with faculty in the Center for Intervention Research in Schools.

Ohio University is a Carnegie Foundation R1 (highest research activity) institution, and the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong research record. Our clinical program follows the scientist-practitioner model of training and maintains an on-site training clinic that provides ample opportunities for clinical practice and research. Reflecting the department's commitment to collaborative, cross-disciplinary scholarship, research specialties often cut across both the experimental and clinical psychology programs. Multiple resources for developing and maintaining a strong research program are available, including infrastructure for grant procurement, grant mentoring, research lab space, and start-up funds.

Responsibilities include maintaining an active, high-quality, fundable research program, directing graduate student research, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising assessment and/or therapy practica, and participating in departmental service. Teaching load is typically 1-2 courses each semester during the 9-month academic calendar, depending on research productivity. Candidates must be committed to working effectively with students, faculty and staff who hold diverse perspectives.

The Department of Psychology is home to 33 full-time faculty who serve over 1,400 undergraduate students and 60 graduate students across the main and seven regional campuses in Southern and Central Ohio. Committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, the department is consistently recognized as one of the top departments at Ohio University for its outstanding research and student engagement. The clinical psychology program is within the College of Arts & Sciences and is central to Ohio University's transformative learning experience.

Minimum Qualifications: The following are required by the start date of the position: Ph.D. from an American Psychological Association- or Canadian Psychological Association-accredited program; Licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in Ohio; Evidence of research productivity in any area of clinical child psychology.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience or high probability of maintaining an active, high-quality, fundable research program that would create synergies with faculty in the Center for Intervention Research in Schools; Prior experience teaching; Prior experience mentoring students in research.
