Part Time Faculty, The Art School

The Art School, within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University, invites expressions of interest in part-time faculty teaching for Spring 2024. Part-time teaching opportunities fluctuate from quarter to quarter throughout the academic year. The applicants with expertise that match the course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. The School will work with selected individuals to determine their schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however, the School does its best to give ample notice about available classes or potential course cancellations. The Art School’s faculty and staff believe in promoting inclusion and equity of opportunity for all faculty, staff, and students and strive to create a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity.

Qualifications:

• a cover letter indicating teaching experience and interests.
• a current CV, MFA in Art, or a related area
• 2 years of teaching experience is required. This could include an instructor of record position while in graduate school.
• Experience teaching at a university or liberal arts college preferred.
• Examples of their artwork, and student work-if available (Which can be a website)
• list of three professional references
• 2 examples of syllabi and corresponding student evaluations

Application Instructions:

The applicant’s schedule must be flexible to accommodate quarterly course schedules (studio block meets for 2 hours and 45 minutes, twice a week, M/W, TU/TH).
