Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. The starting credit adjunct rate from salary table 11 is $84.09 per hour-Lecture and $67.28 per hour-Lab. If you have a doctorate, the rate is $88.15 per hour-Lecture and $70.52 per hour-Lab.
Previous experience working in an Early Childhood Education Center or equivalent is preferred. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development or early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development, elementary education, psychology, or family life studies; AND two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education. A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above may be considered.
Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff is required. Additional qualifications include: Child Development Program Director Permit or Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, TB test clearance and up-to-date immunizations, Current Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certificate, and Criminal background clearance.
