Job Description:

Function of Position:

The Part-time CSTEP Program Assistant will support the CSTEP Program in achieving its grant award goals and initiatives. This position plays a key role in student engagement, technology management, and program compliance. The assistant will help organize events, recruit students for internships and research opportunities, and maintain accurate program data and technology systems.

This is a temporary, grant funded position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of grant funding and performance reviews.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize Wednesday Forums and assist with planning and facilitating program events.
  • Recruit students for internships and research experiences.
  • Support student professional development activities and assist with the Summer Bridge program.
  • Collaborate with the College's technology offices to ensure programmatic compliance.
  • Maintain and update social media platforms and the program website.
  • Oversee technological needs for program support.
  • Manage the online application system to ensure compliance with NYSED requirements.
  • Assist with data gathering for CSTEP and other reporting needs.
  • Maintain an accurate database of CSTEP students.
  • Complete student paperwork for new participants and event documentation.
  • Perform Banner production tasks for student coding, roster tracking, and distribution list maintenance.
  • Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Track student and alumni contact information and program activities.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a STEM discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in higher education, preferably in retention and advisement services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
  • Valid NYS driver's license meeting MCC requirements.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel with students to events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data management systems and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information:

Job Type: Part-time, in person

Salary: $17.50-$24.89/hour
