"Part-Time Staff: Fitness Center Assistant"

Job Summary

POOL POSITION

Part-Time Staff Fitness Center Assistant aides with managing MCC’s fitness center to make a positive difference in the health and quality of life for our students and employees by providing professional, qualified, and educated fitness personnel to help foster life-long healthy habits.

Essential Functions

• Greet fitness center members
• Answer phones
• Record fitness center members attendance
• Process and verify membership status
• Assist with new members registration paperwork
• Process membership payments
• Provide tours to potential and new members
• Sanitize and store exercise equipment throughout the day
• Assist and oversee members with general equipment use
• Perform other related duties assigned by Fitness Specialist and/or Facility Coordinator pertinent to general operations deemed necessary

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma OR G.E.D.
• One (1) year relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in training and/or recreation-related roles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community
• Ability to work well with others
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
