Post-Doc Research Associate
The Center for Animal MRI (CAMRI, http://camri.org/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is in search of a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a strong track record in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) techniques.
CAMRI, affiliated with the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (https://www.med.unc.edu/bric/) and the Department of Neurology (https://www.med.unc.edu/neurology/), focuses on: (1) developing and applying novel fMRI methods and study their relevant contrast mechanisms, and (2) employing cutting-edge neuromodulation and recording techniques to explore the mechanisms behind large-scale functional network transitions and relevant behaviors. Techniques commonly used in CAMRI include MRI, electrical deep brain stimulation, optogenetic stimulation, chemogenetic stimulation, electrophysiology, fiber photometry, and calcium imaging.
Specifically, this position calls for a highly motivated candidate to enhance zero echo time (ZTE) and/or ultra-short echo time (UTE)-based techniques for fMRI. The success of this research line is expected to advance silent, sensitive, specific, and artifact-resistant fMRI methods that can be broadly utilized, enabling new capabilities to map brain function during active behaviors.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, physics, neuroscience, or related field.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Three years of experience in MRI protocol development, data acquisition, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Three years of experience in MRI sequence editing and/or programming on Bruker platform.
