About the Job
The Blythe Lab in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development seeks a postdoctoral associate to join our team. Our research investigates how receptor-mediated signal transduction is regulated in time and space within cells. As a postdoctoral associate, you would spearhead a project related to these themes while also contributing to the growth and evolution of our young lab, which opened in March 2025.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- 75% Research: Plan, conduct, and analyze experiments to investigate the spatiotemporal regulation of receptor-mediated signaling. Research questions and methodologies will depend on the candidate’s interests and background.
- 15% Professional development: Participate in group meetings, journal clubs, departmental seminars, and scientific conferences. Prepare presentations, manuscripts, and fellowship/grant applications. Attend courses, trainings, and workshops.
- 10% Supervising: Train and mentor undergraduates, graduate students, and/or researchers in the lab.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: PhD in biochemistry or a related field. At least one first author publication, including those currently under review or in press.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in receptor kinases, in vitro biochemistry, and/or assay design.
About the Department
The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development comprises faculty from both the Medical School and the College of Biological Sciences. Faculty members are engaged in research in three key disciplines of the department—genetics, cell biology and developmental biology.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $62,232
