Mandatory requirements: PhD in Astronomy, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Experience in artificial intelligence and/or machine learning applied to data analysis, as well as scientific programming and computational research. Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and international team. Availability to carry out research activities on-site at ITA in São José dos Campos, state of São Paulo, Brazil.
Desirable requirements: Experience in one or more of the following areas: astronomical spectroscopy and data analysis; galaxy evolution and stellar populations; Python (or equivalent) and scientific software development; reproducible research and open science; high-performance computing. Candidates are not expected to have experience in all of these areas.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
