Postdoctoral Associate, Center for Climate Change and Health Equity

The Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health invites applications for three Postdoctoral Associate positions to join the Center for Climate Change and Health Equity (CCCHE).

Position 1

Working with Dr. Shelby Yamamoto, this role focuses on research projects related to climate change, air pollution, and environmental exposures in relation to aging, social inequities, and health. Responsibilities include data linkage, quantitative analyses, manuscript writing, mentoring students, grant development, and conference presentations. Dr. Shelby Yamamoto | CCCHE

Position 2

Working with Dr. Mark M. Janko, this role involves research on the health impacts of climate change, focusing on vector-borne diseases in the Amazon and Congo Basins. Involves developing climate scenarios, integrating data for risk estimation, creating interactive tools, mentoring students, and publishing research. Dr. Mark M. Janko | CCCHE

Position 3

Working with Dr. Kelly Baker, this role integrates One Health concepts into urban climate resiliency initiatives. Involves method development, community partnerships, and research on climate-focused health equity interventions. Dr. Kelly Baker | CCCHE

For all positions, candidates must be self-motivated with expertise in statistical programming (e.g., SAS, Stata, R). Positions are full-time, in-person at the University at Buffalo, with funding for up to two years.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, etc.) in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in a climate and/or health-related field.

Salary Range

$50,000 - $55,000 annually.
