The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (PSHOR) has an exciting Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity for two (2) qualified candidates. Fellowships within P-SHOR provide multidisciplinary, advanced training and prepare fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical industries, and consulting. Training includes, but is not limited to, mentored research, grant writing, and teaching experiences.

Salary: $62,232 - $75,564 (Commensurate with NIH stipend levels, education, and experience)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team as an expert in measurement theory for a National Institutes of Health R01 funded study that aims to develop an intersectional, multilevel and multidimensional measure of structural racism. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in measurement theory and statistics, demonstrating mastery in structural equation modeling and item response theory methods. As a key member of our research team, the successful candidate will be responsible for advancing our understanding of complex measurement issues, designing and implementing rigorous measurement models, and conducting innovative research in their field. Proficiency in data analysis is essential, and the candidate should showcase a track record of excellence in handling diverse quantitative datasets. Having experience working with vulnerable communities and stakeholder engagement is desired.

The selected candidate will work directly with Dr. Villalonga-Olives on health inequalities, psychometrics and patient-centered outcomes research. The fellow will work with investigators from several institutions such as University of Maryland, Duke University, Harvard University, Yale University and Johns Hopkins University, and community partners. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative research environment for a candidate with exceptional skills in measurement theory and a passion for advancing knowledge in the field.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, measure development, data analysis, manuscript writing, and grant writing. The successful applicant will work in a multidisciplinary research team supported by an advanced data management and computational infrastructure to perform data analyses, develop and/or implement novel statistical methodology, and publish research results. The incumbent is expected to publish first author papers and present at national and international meetings.

Qualifications: A PhD from a diverse set of backgrounds related to health outcomes research (i.e., Public Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Education, Statistics or related discipline) are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates should have excellent communication skills, writing skills and time-management skills.
