Position Overview
The Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join the NSF-sponsored Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) grant team. The project aims to enable and study a cultural shift within the school toward a “living laboratory” ecosystem, promoting innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement in engineering education.
The postdoctoral associate will work directly with:
- Professor Allison Godwin (CBE, Engineering Education)
- Professor Alexandra Coso Strong (CBE & Systems Engineering)
Target start date: no later than June 1, 2026, with preference for Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 start.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of curriculum, assessment, and pedagogical changes with faculty
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data on project impacts
- Contribute to research reports, scholarly publications, and conference presentations
- Assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students involved in the project
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Engineering Education, STEM Education, Engineering, or related field
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Experience with human subjects research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Salary Range
$62,232 – $88,745, based on:
