Position Summary

The Project Specialist provides day-to-day support, communication, and coordination for Project ACCESS. This includes the coordination of two major initiatives: The Video Mentor Project and our Social Emotional Project. Specifically, the Project Specialist will act as a liaison with partner departments, schools, and school districts facilitating coordination and scheduling for all program activities. The Project specialists also will provide administrative support involving data requests for the evaluation of grant activities. Finally, the Project Specialist will provide training for new and current content creators on video creation and video editing.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate coordination of major grant activities.
  • Maintain all tasks/responsibilities set by the leadership team.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments and off campus organizations.
  • Conduct training for current and new content creators on content creation and video editing.
  • Organize and present final videos to course leads and appropriate faculty for review and approval.
  • Plan and coordinate grant events.
  • Maintain excellent relations with collaborative internal and external departments and organizations.
  • Maintain relevant records and documentation, as required.
  • Provide input on how to improve processes.
  • Perform other work-related duties like project planning and general administration as directed by the Center Director.
  • Ensure daily or weekly communication updates to program staff by disseminating information through relevant channels and posting pertinent materials.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team atmosphere and working conditions.
  • Participate in ongoing grant projects, or other special projects, as needed.
  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position.
  • Identifies and solves programs impeding organization effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Management and supervision of staff preferred.
  • Experience coordinating staff schedules preferred.
  • Experience conducting staff development training required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service or related required.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications.
  • Candidates who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for college coursework are preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Content Creator required.
  • Proven record of creating engaging, high-quality videos required.
  • Experience using video editing software preferred
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures, including policy updates preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and a desire to work in this capacity.
  • Ability to manage difficult situations that may involve escalation.
  • Established interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing as demonstrated by; expressing ideas and thoughts that are understood by others, exhibiting good listening and comprehension skills, and keeping others adequately informed.
  • Skill in interacting with various departments.
  • Strong ability to provide friendly service in-person, on calls, and in written correspondence regardless of message being delivered.
  • Ability to remain solution-focused in all interactions with students, team members, clients, faculty, and staff keeping in mind all University policies.
  • Actively able to seek opportunities to influence, build effective relationships and gain alignment with peers, functional partners and/or external partners to accomplish business objectives. 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, detail oriented, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, be flexible, meet deadlines, adapt to ever changing environment.
  • Strong administrative skills to facilitate operations. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to consistently display the highest level of integrity.
  • Ability to work well in teams, while contributing to positive and productive team atmosphere, working conditions, etc.
  • Ability to advocate for students without compromising the integrity of the University.
  • Strong understanding of the University mission, vision, values, goals, and strategies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:
