Professor in artificial intelligence and organizations
The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in artificial intelligence and organizations at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commencing on July 1st, 2026.
Duties: Academic staff functions include teaching, research, and academic service activities. Teaching activities involve strengthening quality teaching, excellent pedagogical practices, contributing to graduate programs and interdisciplinarity, and supervising graduate students. Scholarly activities require a proven capacity in securing competitive research funding, maintaining an active research agenda, and publications in top-tier journals in artificial intelligence and organizations. The ideal candidate explores AI as a phenomenon and as an instrument of inquiry.
Graduate student supervision involves overseeing students in artificial intelligence and organizations or related topics. Academic service activities include being an active member of the Management or Business Analytics and Information Systems section.
Preferences: Candidates whose research and teaching intersect Technology and Organizing, addressing AI's transformative role in organizations.
Terms: New tenure-track position.
Salary: The salary scale for an assistant professor starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).
Benefits package: Includes long-term disability insurance, health insurance, pension plan, and relocation expenses reimbursement.
Location of work: Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, Desmarais Hall, Ottawa ON K1N 6N5.
Skills requirements:
Education: Ph.D. in Management, Information Systems, Organization Studies, Strategy, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Work experience: High-potential research agenda with publications in high-quality journals and success in attracting competitive research funding.
Language: English and/or French; passive knowledge of the second official language required at tenure.
Other: Experience in interdisciplinary and applied research is desirable.
