Position Description
The Department of Computer Science at Rice University, located in Houston, TX, seeks applications for a tenured Full Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

- Clear potential for leadership in the Department of Computer Science and the School of Engineering and Computing at Rice
Candidates must have an internationally recognized record of research excellence, a strong history of extramural funding, and demonstrated leadership. Candidates with expertise in all areas of computer science will be considered. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent teaching and mentoring abilities, and strong communication skills.
The successful candidate will bring to Rice an internationally recognized research program supported by extramural funding. The candidate will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses within their area of expertise, present research findings in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, and demonstrate a strong commitment to mentoring and advising students from diverse backgrounds. The candidate will also contribute to service at the departmental, school, university, and professional levels, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. As a leader in the department, the candidate will be expected to help develop strategic initiatives, promote a collegial and inclusive departmental culture, and support the professional development of faculty, staff, and students.

All candidates must have earned a Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related field and professional experience consistent with the rank of the position. All applicants should demonstrate excellence in scholarship, teaching, and collegial service.
