Program Coordinator for Campus Activities & Programs
Reporting to the Associate Director for Campus Activities and Programs, the Program Coordinator for Campus Activities & Programs (CAP) advises and supports student groups to manage and promote development and campus-wide programming. This position contributes to a dynamic and team-oriented environment while also consistently demonstrating the ability to take initiative and manage individual responsibilities effectively.
The Coordinator’s work is accomplished through the teaching, training, support, and empowerment of students, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, communication, extensive problem-solving, and a commitment to creating inclusive and engaging campus experiences. The role requires flexibility to work evening, late-night, and weekend hours during the academic year, with planning and assessment responsibilities occurring throughout the year. The Coordinator must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with students, colleagues, and campus partners; exhibit strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills; demonstrate autonomy, responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through on assigned tasks, and be able to work both independently and as an active member of a collaborative team.
This position may supervise paraprofessionals such as student employees and one to three Graduate Assistants. The Coordinator will oversee specific program functions and guide students in carrying out responsibilities through careful supervision and the evaluation and modification of current relative practices and processes. The Coordinator interacts regularly with professional staff, students, alumni, faculty, and external partners. Successfully establishing, maintaining, and nurturing these campus partnerships is critical to the overall success of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree and two years of directly related experience working with student activities and campus programming, OR a Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration, or a closely related field and one year of full-time experience working with student activities, student groups, and campus programming.
- Graduate assistantship experience will be considered.
- Experience and comfort working in a multicultural environment and a commitment to the value of student activities as an experiential learning process
