Your Role on the Team
Using professional student services theories and concepts, performs a limited range of duties and responsibilities within a Student Life program. Works independently to provide information and interpretation of clearly defined policies, procedures and regulations. Receives direction regarding more complex issues and / or program(s). Identifies individual student needs for programs and services and advises on appropriate programs and resources.
Under the supervision of the Sr. Basic Needs Specialist of the Basic Needs Center, the Program Coordinator has the functional responsibility for the coordination and implementation of student basic needs and food security efforts. Supports the daily operations of the campus food pantries and participates in campus-wide efforts to address student basic needs security. The coordinator develops and maintains relationships with campus and community partners to provide comprehensive, cohesive services, information, and programs to UCI students in the area of basic needs security. The coordinator assists in supervising student staff, interns, and volunteers. The coordinator provides support in planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, training, and informational sessions in collaboration with campus and community partners and makes recommendations for new and existing programs.

Required:
- Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
- Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
- Understanding of University rules and regulations.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.
- Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
- Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- CA Food Handlers Certification
- 2 years of relevant experience or combination of education and/or experience
Special Conditions:
- May be required to work evening or weekend programs/events
- Ability to drive a large vehicle

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.53 - $31.13 (Hourly).
