Position Information:

The Program Management Coordinator in SMPPH/CHC (Social Medicine, Population, and Public Health/Center for Healthy Communities) at the UCR School of Medicine supports the development, coordination, and delivery of community-focused health education and promotion programs. The position applies professional public health concepts to plan workshops and outreach activities, collaborate with community partners, support data collection and program evaluation, and assist in creating culturally responsive educational materials. This role helps advance SMPPH/CHC's mission to improve community health through effective, evidence-based health promotion initiatives.

The full salary range for the Program Management Coordinator is $60,990.48 - $106,801.20 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $75,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Requirements:

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Sociology, or Public Policy. Preferred
- Master of Public Health or Master of Philosophy in Public Health, Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Medical Science in Public Health. Preferred

Experience Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required

License Requirements
- Drivers License Required

Certification Requirements
- Certified in Public Health (CPH), Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). Preferred

Special Conditions
- Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Required

Minimum Requirements

  • Familiar with conducting assessments and surveys to determine health education needs.
  • Design health education and promotional materials and aids including flyers, videos, audio clips, images, etc.
  • Developing health communication plans and delivery methods for partners.
  • Working knowledge of the health promotion and education field.
  • Ability to acquire the requisite skills to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
  • Working knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs.
  • Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services.
  • Engaging coalitions of stakeholders to address community health issues and promote advocacy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional ability to achieve sustainable health education and promotion program results.
  • Knowledge or health education and promotion programs, policies, and trends.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual-English/Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies professional concepts to help identify areas of need for health promotion and education programs. Utilizes data and health indicators to assist in identifying community needs, emerging trends, and opportunities for new initiatives. Plan and conduct health education and promotion activities: presentations, seminars, townhalls, workshops, interviews, orientations, and focus groups for adults and/or children. Coordinates program logistics including scheduling, communications, and resource distribution for health education activities. 20%
  • Under general supervision, presents health promotion and education programs; designs and delivers workshops on routine information. Assists in developing culturally responsive materials, curricula, and outreach strategies to effectively reach diverse populations. Conducts community outreach and collaborates with partner organizations, schools, clinics, and community groups to increase program participation/engagement and visibility. 15%
  • Assists with developing new courses and content information. Supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives, ensuring alignment with community needs, organizational policies, grant requirements, and public health best practices. 15%
  • Presents health promotion and education programs, and designs and delivers workshops on moderately complex information. Develops and presents health promotion and education programs tailored to community needs. Assists in creating culturally relevant educational materials, curricula, and engagement tools to enhance participant understanding. Provides follow-up support, referrals, and information to participants to ensure access to appropriate medical and social resources and services. 15%
  • Prepares compelling cases for support and funding requests, to secure financial investment from external stakeholders and community partners to sustain health programs. 10%
  • Gathers and analyzes data to make recommendations regarding effectiveness of programs. Monitors program performance by collecting and analyzing data, gathering participant feedback, and preparing reports to support continuous quality improvement. Maintains accurate records and documentation for data reporting, evaluation, and compliance purposes. 10%
  • Under general supervision, conducts needs analysis for health promotion and education. 5%
  • Develops, secures, and maintains any equipment or instructional materials needed to conduct classes. Orders, tracks, and maintains supplies, equipment, and instructional materials needed for outreach activities, workshops, and health education programs, ensuring inventory is organized and readily available. 5%
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 5%
