Your next career opportunity
As Project Manager for the Indigenous Studies Unit, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of large-scale research projects aimed at improving Indigenous health and wellbeing outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to engage with diverse stakeholders, from community organisations to international researchers, while contributing to policy development and reform. Your expertise in project management will support innovative research in areas such as Indigenous data, family violence, and cultural heritage.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive Project Delivery: Manage multiple large-scale research projects, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with diverse partners, including Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations and international collaborators.
  • Research Support: Manage budgets, and contribute to the development of reports and presentations for various audiences.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain comprehensive project tracking registers.

You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced project manager with excellent communication skills, capable of coordinating complex research initiatives and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders in cross-disciplinary settings.

You may also:

  • Hold a degree with relevant experience in project management, particularly in the higher education research sector.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of research infrastructure development and operation.
  • Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Have experience in community engagement and an understanding of qualitative research methodologies.
  • Be willing to travel and work occasional hours outside of ordinary business hours.

Your new team – Melbourne School of Population & Global Health
The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH) is a respected leader in the field of public health education, research and knowledge exchange. MSPGH was established in 2001 as the first school of its kind in Australia with a vision to make a difference in the population and public health sphere - building on the substantial assets of our University to advance public health in communities nationally and internationally - with a strong focus on Indigenous peoples.
