As UOW undertakes a significant transformation to ensure responsiveness and sustainability in a dynamic higher education landscape, we seek a distinguished academic leader to serve as Provost, a pivotal appointment within the University’s Executive Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor and President, the Provost will provide strategic oversight and operational leadership for the academic enterprise, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and student outcomes across all faculties. Acting as the standing Deputy to the Vice-Chancellor, the Provost will play a critical role in shaping UOW’s academic strategy and guiding the next chapter of its evolution.

The successful candidate will champion academic rigour, foster innovation in learning and research, and lead with integrity and collaboration. They will inspire high performance across faculties, promote equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ensure UOW remains agile and future oriented. This role demands visionary leadership, exceptional judgement, and a nuanced understanding of both Australian and global higher education dynamics. Candidates will bring a distinguished academic record, extensive senior leadership experience in research-intensive universities, and a proven ability to lead change, engage diverse stakeholders, and deliver strategic outcomes.
