Public Affairs Assistant

The London School of Economics and Political Science is looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join the Public Affairs Team in the Communications Division. This role is open ended, subject to funding (with funding guaranteed for a year in the first instance) and open to full time applicants.

The post holder will support the implementation of strategies to develop and strengthen LSE’s relationship with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers and serve the School’s interests, both in the promotion of academic expertise and in anticipating and responding to developments that affect LSE’s business and reputation. The post holder will play a key role in providing varied support for stakeholder engagement work and helping the Public Affairs team plan for and execute its plans around political party conferences in the autumn of 2026 as well as set piece event delivery across the year.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in politics and a good understanding of the current political climate in the UK and beyond. They will have strong communication and organisational skills and be self-motivated and a great team player. This is a great opportunity to develop knowledge and skills working in politics and public affairs in a friendly, highly-motivated team.
