Are you ready to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals? SUNY Niagara is urgently seeking a passionate and dedicated Radiologic Technology Instructor to join our dynamic team this Fall! This is a full-time 10-month tenure track position. The Radiologic Technology Instructor delivers high-quality instruction and hands-on training to students in the Nursing, Physical & Allied Health division. The successful candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology with in-depth industry knowledge of radiologic technology principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment, as well as a strong understanding of current trends and advancements in the field. The candidate must possess good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as flexibility to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students and accommodate changes in the program or industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach 18 contact hours of lab/clinical/lecture or 15 credits of lecture only per semester
- Provide student advisement and be a mentor to students
- Curriculum and course development
- Participate in departmental planning and college-wide initiatives
Only required to work 162 days per academic year (August - May) and will be provided with a winter break from mid-December to early January, and a Spring Break for one week in mid-March. In addition to the base salary, there are avenues to increase the salary by teaching overload, teaching summer courses and doing special assignments, etc. There is a tenure track pathway for promotion to higher level salaries of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor.

Typical Work Activities
- Deliver classroom instruction to students with engaging lectures, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Develop and maintain instructional materials.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation.
- Develop and maintain transfer program articulation agreements.
- Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology.
- Develop and revise the radiologic technology curriculum.
- Assess course and program learning outcomes.
- Develop and administer assessments and provide feedback.
- Offer guidance and support to students.
- Contribute to departmental/divisional meetings and activities.
- Participate in college and discipline-specific professional activities.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Ability to advise students for classes, transfer options, and career advice. Ability to be an active member in the division and serve on committees. Ability to speak in front of groups and effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the campus community.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in radiologic technology from an accredited program
- Bachelor's Degree and enrolled in a Master's degree program
- ARRT Registered and New York State Licensed in Radiologic Technology
- Two (2) years recent (within five (5) years) clinical experience in Radiologic Technology
- One (1) year teaching experience in a JRCERT accredited program
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Community college teaching experience
- Experience teaching in a technology enhanced classroom
- Remote learning teaching experience
