Job Summary

The Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA) is a large-scale, ongoing research project tracking changes in social, physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning among individuals aged 55 and older in the Netherlands since 1992. This role involves conducting medical interviews for a new measurement round lasting approximately 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Contact participants to schedule appointments, typically during weekdays.
• Conduct medical interviews lasting about 1.5 hours using a laptop and structured questionnaire, including questions on medication, anxiety, and depression scores.
• Perform physiological measurements such as circumference measurements, handgrip strength, and lung function tests.
• Administer cognitive tests and record audio of interviews with participant consent.
• Process data after each interview and consult with the fieldwork coordinator as needed.
• Attend mandatory training sessions on October 24, 27, and 31, and conduct a practice interview.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum education level equivalent to HAVO (high school diploma).
• Relevant work experience in healthcare.
• Reside in or near the municipalities of Waterland or Wormerland and have access to a car.
• Strong communication skills and persuasiveness.
• Flexibility in scheduling appointments.
• Proficiency in using computers, internet, and email.
• Affinity and experience with older adults is preferred.
• Fluent in Dutch.

What the Employer Offers

• A call contract due to the flexible nature of the work.
• Salary range of €2,651 to €3,513 gross per month for a full-time position, approximately €17.00 gross per hour for interview time.
• 75% reimbursement for travel time, €0.28 per kilometer for car travel, and reimbursement for parking and public transport costs with receipts.
