Resident Assistant
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful residential community.
- Plan and implement educational, social, and developmental programming for residents.
- Promote student engagement and campus involvement.
- Serve as a resource and referral agent for academic, personal, and campus concerns.
- Maintain regular contact with assigned residents.
- Assist students in conflict resolution and peer mediation.
- Uphold and enforce University policies and Residence Life regulations.
- Conduct routine safety and security rounds.
- Document incidents accurately and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies following university protocols.
- Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service workshops.
- Assist with hall openings, closings, room inspections, and check-in/check-out procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and communication logs.
- Represent Residence Life and Alcorn State University in a professional manner.
- Serve as a role model who demonstrates leadership, integrity, and accountability.
- Support university initiatives and student success efforts.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at Alcorn State University.
- Must maintain full-time enrollment throughout employment.
- Prior leadership experience (e.g., student organizations, athletics, mentoring, or campus involvement) is preferred.
- Previous residence hall living experience is preferred.
