Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant serves as the point person for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University School of Medicine and Tulane School of Medicine infrastructure departments as related to financial operations. The position is responsible for the financial integrity of the department, including managing the Corporate Card system, managing the Effort Reporting System (ERS), managing the Concur system, assisting with the development and implementation of business plans, preparing and managing departmental budgets, and related monthly/quarterly review meetings with the Dean’s office. In addition, the Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the review and management of sponsored research projects, reviewing/approving all expenditures for purchasing activities within the department, providing analysis and monthly reporting regarding TUMG/FPP revenue activities, managing invoices, cash collections, and accounts receivables related to departmental contracts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, finance or a closely related field.
- Minimum of four years of directly related experience to include experience in a management level position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in accounting finance or business
- Experience working for a healthcare organization or academic center
- Experience in and demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local grant regulations
- Working knowledge of TAMS
- Working knowledge of COGNOS
- Working knowledge of HCM
- Working knowledge of IDX/eCW/PDS/FPSC
