Job Description

The Senior Analyst, Admissions is an important member of the Recruitment and Admissions team. Reporting to the Director, the analyst will be primarily working on the admissions module, and compiling, organizing, and translating large volumes of data into concise and precise reports and dashboards that inform decisions on a wide range of recruitment and enrollment strategies. The analysis of internal, external, and trend data will elicit insights that will propel the actions necessary to ensure strong enrollment for years to come at this institution. Incumbent will serve as an informational and technical resource for the customer relationship management software (Greymatter). Modules include Recruit, Admit, Promote, Scheduling and Appointments, and Marketing and Events.

The Senior Analyst must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate; plan and prioritize various projects; support query, process, and communication projects across four MyCSN modules (Admissions, Student Records, Campus Community, Academic Advising) and assist in Curriculum Management functions at the college. The Senior Analyst supervises one classified staff member, providing proper training, clear goals, and continuous performance feedback.

The Senior Analyst supports the Office of Recruitment and Admissions by overseeing various technical processes including, but not limited to:

  • Test system updates, integrations, and implementations as needed.
  • Design, modify and update queries and processes.
  • Collect, analyze and provide report data for institutional, state, and federal reporting.
  • Attend meetings with internal and external entities to provide feedback on CSN requirements and processes.
  • Develop PeopleSoft (MyCSN) related training materials for faculty, staff, students, and provide training when appropriate.
  • Provide recommendations to automate processes to assist in reaching departmental, division, and institutional goals.
  • Develop electronic workflows to meet institutional needs.
  • Create regular reports and dashboards to track trends, preparing visual charts, graphs and presentations for summary statistics.
  • Provide additional support as needed such as conducting research, testing new technologies, assisting with integrations, etc.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team, Office of the Registrar, Office of Technology Services, Institutional research and others on campus to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.
  • Support the development of enrollment and recruitment plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or other analysis-based concentration from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of related professional experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, documentation, and testing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to develop and modify queries.
  • Has a basic understanding of SQLs.
  • Advanced level computer skills using Windows based operating system, specifically Microsoft Word Excel (graphics, pivot tables) and Adobe suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis, documentation, and testing within higher education institution.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes and best practices.
  • Proof of student-centered philosophy and a customer service orientation.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of relational database and SQL in an Oracle or Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of developing and producing queries in Peoplesoft.
  • Skills navigating CRM systems and understanding functions and workflow.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the day-to-day operations of a college level Office of the Registrar office and other student services.
  • Ability to generate ad-hoc reports using query language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and the public.
  • Ability to analyze problems and users' needs, convert technical concepts to non-technical language.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Experience in supervising staff.

Salary information:

Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $73,982.
