"Senior Custodian, Auxiliary Facilities Services"

UC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for multiple, full-time Senior Custodians. The full salary range for the Senior Custodian is $25.00 - $28.89 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

This recruitment will be used to fill multiple positions with varying schedules. Positions may include shifts scheduled across all seven days of the week and throughout the day. Specific schedules will be discussed at the time of interview.

The Sr. Custodian performs a variety of custodial tasks to care, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. Responsible to clean, dust, strip, wax, sweep, mop, polish, disinfect, sanitize, wash, vacuum, replenish restrooms, and remove refuse/recycling throughout campus facilities, conference rooms, elevators, stairwells, offices, classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, restrooms, lounges, hallways, residential facilities, exteriors, etc. May work independently or as a part of a team in assigned work areas. Maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma (Preferred)
• Six months of experience in custodial/housekeeping operations or an equivalent combination of training and experience (Required)
• Experience in safe use of a wide variety of equipment and machinery common to custodial services (Required)
• Experience in safe use of cleaning chemicals, their interactions, danger signs and disposal methods (Required)
• Experience in proper procedures for cleaning and maintaining a variety of floor surfaces (Required)
• Valid CA Driver License (Required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Custodial Maintenance: Performs semi-skilled and skilled routine and emergency cleaning and custodial duties using a wide range of equipment. Utilizes knowledge of cleaning chemicals and tools to safely perform tasks including extraction, waxing, polishing, stripping, cleaning, buffing, sanitizing, disinfecting, dusting, washing, vacuuming, etc. Scrubs, cleans, disinfects and sanitizes walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, equipment, toilets, showers, refrigerators, drinking fountains, counters, handrails, furniture, glass, etc. (50%)
• Floor Care: Responsible for overall floor maintenance of a wide variety of floor surfaces; maintains by stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, mopping, extracting and bonneting interiors and exterior floors. (20%)
• Communication: Communicates progress of work verbally and/or in writing. Responds to daily work orders and performs necessary emergency requests. Maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, staff, faculty and students. (10%)
• Event Set Up & Support: Sets up and re-sets special events, meetings, and conferences. (5%)
• Exterior Cleaning Maintenance: Maintains exterior of buildings by sweeping or blowing down sidewalks, stairs and walkways. (5%)
• Moving: Moves furniture, equipment and materials as required. (5%)
• Refuse & Recycling Support: Empties, moves and hauls refuse, recycling and/or cigarette butt bins. (5%)
