About This Opportunity
We are eagerly seeking an organised and customer focused Administration Assistant to join the team at Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) in Charleville.
SQRH is a Commonwealth-funded University Department of Rural Health and is a joint initiative of The University of Queensland (UQ), University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) and South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS).
In this role, you will provide a wide range of reception and administrative assistance, as well as supporting students with accommodation processes and social activities. On any given day, you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders and facilitating the efficient and effective functioning of day-to-day administration procedures, operations and logistics.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking office reception tasks, demonstrating a high level of customer service including meeting, coordinating and briefing visitors.
- Coordinating committee/meeting/engagement activities, including booking rooms, scheduling meetings, drafting relevant documentation, taking minutes, monitoring RSVPs and liaising with attendees.
- Applying a range of desktop-based programs and/or management information systems.
- Administering relevant financials (i.e. managing reimbursements and other expenses).
- Assisting with processes and procedures in relation to student accommodation for students on clinical placement. This includes assisting with accommodation bookings, accommodation security processes, and accommodation property maintenance and inspections.

About You
- A Cert IV or Diploma with relevant work experience; Cert III with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of customer service, including effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and previous exposure to practice management software.
- Effective organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:
- Work Rights: You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
- Mandatory Immunisations: It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
- On Call: This position will be required to be on call at times to maintain our student support services.
- Travel: This position is primarily based in Charleville, however travel may be required to work from other sites across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland regions as required.
