Senior Engineer Fabrication
Queen's University Belfast is seeking engineers to innovate and apply their knowledge to support fabrication and welding projects within AMIC’s advanced manufacturing activities. You will apply specialist knowledge of methods, processes, and process validation to generate innovative research outputs with direct economic and technical benefits to companies and sectors. Work collaboratively with teams, industry, technology providers, national technology centres, and academia on advanced manufacturing projects.
About the person: Candidates must have a minimum of Higher National Diploma/Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline with significant relevant and recent industrial experience. Demonstrate in-depth understanding and recent experience of automated processes in manufacturing, knowledge of industrial welding and fabrication processes, robotic welding, 3D CAD for automated systems design, jig and fixture design, safety systems in automated solutions, working in multifaceted environments to deadlines and budgets, using research/industrial tools for high-quality projects, complex problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.
This is a three-year fixed-term post.
