Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing administrative staff in collaborative support teams, including schedule coordination, performance evaluation, and professional development plans, while also supporting the Dallas College Police Department. This civilian position assists the Chief's Central Office, Patrol Operations, Emergency Services Unit (ESU), Administrative Support Services and broader command staff at the campus level.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to apply significant administrative knowledge to supervise staff thoroughly in the scope and complexity of all program and organizational operations
- Knowledge of law enforcement office procedures and regulatory requirements, including Clery Act, Title IX, TCOLE and CJIS standards.
- Familiarity with Texas Government Code relating to the Texas Public Information Act, including document retention.
- Familiarity with the Texas Administrative Code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and electronic records systems.
- Must have strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation, with the ability to build professional, collaborative relationships across diverse, multicultural populations and stakeholders-both internal and external-using tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
Physical Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher plus three (3) years of highly responsible administrative work-related experience, or
- Associate degree plus five (5) years of highly responsible administrative work-related experience, or
- High School Diploma plus twelve (12) years highly responsible administrative work-related experience
- Official transcripts are required.
- Must have a current and valid Texas driver's license if traveling to off-site locations
- Ability to complete CJIS Less-Than-Full access certification within 6 months of employment.
- Bilingual or Multilingual preferred
- Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures a high standard of service across all campus police functions.
- Responsible for supervising assigned personnel, including performance evaluation and professional development plan
- Serves as a liaison between the police department and other Dallas College departments, public agencies, and the campus community.
- Supports Clery Act, Title IX, TCOLE, Racial Profiling and TPCA accreditation documentation and submissions.
- Serves as CLERY committee member and help compile data for the Annual Security Report (ASR) and maintain daily crime log accuracy.
- Provides administrative support to the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Central Office Staff
- Acts as project lead, which may include planning and coordinating presentations, disseminating information, coordinating timelines, etc.
- Assists with open records requests, internal audits, and compliance inspections.
- Processes police reports, citations, incident logs, department records, create and maintain monthly activity reports.
- Drafts, edits, and maintains departmental correspondence, reports, agendas, and minutes.
- Access ARMS, Avigilon, AXON Standards, PMAM, amongst other data platforms.
- Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and coordinate departmental training and travel logistics.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
