About The Team

The Learning, Teaching and Technology team sits within the Portfolio of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Education and plays a central role in delivering contemporary, accessible and inclusive education across the University. The portfolio is committed to high‑quality learning experiences that help every student succeed and graduate with adaptability, fresh perspectives and a strong social conscience.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an important part of this commitment, providing students with meaningful, real‑world experiences that strengthen employability, confidence and career readiness. The WIL team works closely with industry and community partners to create, coordinate and support placements, ensuring students have valuable and positive workplace learning opportunities.

Your New Role!

We are seeking motivated and organised individuals to join our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team as Senior Placement Officers (internally titled Senior WIL Officer). In these roles, you’ll support students, academics and industry partners by coordinating high‑quality placements that help students build confidence and real‑world experience.

You’ll play an important part in ensuring every placement runs smoothly — from preparing students and liaising with workplace supervisors, to managing compliance, documentation and communication across the placement lifecycle.

We’re looking for team players who enjoy building positive relationships, solving problems and supporting others. Whether you are experienced in placements, coordination, administration or customer service, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and employability.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and managing supportive relationships with students, staff, industry and community partners
  • Coordinating placement activities, including communication, compliance checks, documentation and reporting
  • Supporting consistent, high‑quality placement processes across different disciplines
  • Providing training and assistance for SONIA and other placement systems
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance the WIL experience for students and partners

Please refer to the Position Description for further details.

What We Offer You!

The positions attract an annual remuneration of $80,000 – $98,000 (pro-rata if part time) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

You’ll join a dynamic and talented team where diversity and innovation thrive. Our Silver-tier status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), awarded in 2025, reflects our commitment to LGBTIQA+ inclusion, equity, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. We strive to be the university of choice for First Nations peoples, honouring Indigenous knowledge. Sustainability is central to our community and guided by clear, confident leadership, we are working toward an ambitious future with goals of net zero emissions and zero waste by 2030.
