About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to join our Information and Digital Services team. This is a role filled with opportunities, as you will provide high level leadership, guidance, and support to projects, product owners, technology vendors and operational teams to ensure that solution architectures and designs are aligned with the IDS architecture principles, guardrails, and design standards.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position include:
- Lead the design of complex solutions that provide an excellent customer experience.
- Guide stakeholders, including senior executives and governance groups, in making informed decisions about solution options.
- Communicate designs to delivery teams and ensure alignment with the original design.
- Contribute to the development and management of the IDS Digital Architecture vision.
- Evaluate new technologies and foster technical innovation.

About You
You are a problem solver, prepared to challenge assumptions and enjoy the flow from raw material to the end product. You understand how people, process, data and technology fit together and enjoy working with integration specialists to see a project to successful completion. In addition, you have a flair for and a commitment to, producing simple and clear solution documentation including descriptions of the business context.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in developing complex solution designs, often delving into the configuration and interfaces of application platforms to eliminate design assumptions.
- Advanced strategic thinking, planning, and analytical skills, with an eye on the big picture to identify dependencies and synergies.
- Excellent skills in data modelling and integration design.
- A flair for producing clear and simple solution documentation, with unambiguous text and diagrams.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Higher Education domain and hold an appropriate postgraduate qualification in Information Technology or a relevant technical area, and/or equivalent relevant experience.

IDS are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more.
