- Identified position: This role is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only, in accordance with Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).
- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 13 months.
- Base salary range: $104,243 – $115,661 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education (PVCIE) is responsible for leading the University of Western Australia’s Indigenous Education Strategy which encompasses all areas of the University’s activities.
About the opportunity
- Manage and coordinate the recruitment, enrolment, orientation and ongoing support to Indigenous students and the Indigenous student experience.
- Provide a high level of guidance and assistance to students on matters related to career and professional development and leadership opportunities including global study opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in university systems.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Substantial relevant experience in program development and service delivery to Indigenous students.
- Extensive knowledge of education systems in Western Australia and Indigenous higher education at local and national levels.
- Well-developed understanding of relevant issues impacting on the successful transition to university of commencing students.
- Demonstrated capacity to support students to develop the academic skills and competencies required to achieve academic success at the tertiary level.
